Position Overview:

As the Director of Customer Strategy for Walmart, you will be responsible for translating business objectives into overall sales and develop channel-specific strategies and tactics that drive sustainable and profitable growth.

The position will have full ownership of the P&L, responsible for achieving the Annual Operating Plan, including Sales, Profit, ACV, and Share. Additionally, this position will serve as the lead point of contact overseeing broker contacts and managing relationships directly with Walmart decision makers for our account.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary account lead, being a trusted partner by managing relationships, understanding their business objectives, and aligning our solutions to drive customer success and market share.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for account growth and differentiation.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess their needs, monitor and analyze customer usage, address any concerns, and identify opportunities for improved customer engagement.
  • Develop and execute best-in-class promotional/display strategy for customers to deliver topline growth while maximizing ROI.
  • Manage & optimize trade spending in line with budget. Support quarterly promotion ROI analysis.
  • Manage an innovation summit process with customers to build a 1–3-year pipeline of innovation partnership.
  • Support and participate in channel trade shows, events, and conferences where applicable.
  • Implement marketing strategies, analyze trends, and negotiate promotions for our brands.
  • Ensure timely execution of back-end support functions (trade deduction management, price discrepancies, customer payments).

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of proven experience in customer strategy, sales, or related roles.
  • Relevant experience covering Walmart account for multiple years.
  • Strong analytical mindset. Experience with market intelligence systems (IRI, Luminate, Circana, PowerBI)
  • Excellent communication capabilities, ability to define and build sell-in materials.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with forecasting and trade budget management systems.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Broker management experience preferred
