Position Overview:

The HR Generalist is responsible for the administration of HR related tasks and assisting employees with general HR and Benefit related questions.


Job Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Coordinate the candidate background screening.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.

Employee Relations:

  • Assist with employee HR-related questions and investigations.
  • Conduct exit interviews.

Performance Management:

  • Assist in the administration of performance management programs.
  • Track employee progress.

Benefits Administration:

  • Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and issues.
  • Assist with the coordination of the open enrollment processes and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
  • Prepare and submit required reports related to HR activities and metrics.

Training and Development:

  • Assist in creating and updating training materials.

HR Policies and Procedures:

  • Maintain and update HR policy and procedure documents.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in HR, preferably as an HR Generalist.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.

Work Environment:

Exposure to both the office setting and food manufacturing facility.

  • Significant amount of time working at a computer station
  • Occasional visits to various areas of the manufacturing floor
  • Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
  • Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, or walking.
  • Occasional ability to lift up to 20lbs.
  • Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.
