Job Summary:
The Team Lead will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the production team. This role ensures that all production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and meet quality and safety standards. The Team Lead will be responsible for managing team performance, ensuring adherence to manufacturing procedures, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Scheduled hours for this 3rd shift position are 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM. The pay rate for the Team Lead starts at $23.00/hr.
Job Responsibilities:
Team Supervision:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production workers to achieve operational goals.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on production needs and individual skills.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and promote teamwork.
Production Oversight:
- Oversee daily production operations to ensure adherence to schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor production lines for efficiency, safety, and compliance with company policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues or equipment malfunctions that arise during production.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all products meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct inspections and audits to verify product quality and compliance with safety regulations.
- Implement corrective actions when quality issues are identified.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure that all team members are trained on safety practices and equipment use.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including food safety standards.
Training and Development:
- Provide on-the-job training and support for new team members.
- Identify opportunities for skill development and improvement within the team.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
Administrative Duties:
- Complete production reports, including daily production logs, quality control data, and equipment maintenance records.
- Manage and track inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing to meet production demands.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvements and collaborate with management to implement changes.
- Promote and support lean manufacturing practices and initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Solid understanding of food manufacturing process and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using production and quality control software.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or higher in Manufacturing, Food Science, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a lead role.
Work Environment:
Production facility setting.
- Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
- Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent sitting, standing, or walking.
- Occasional ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to physically perform functions of repetitive motion, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and climbing.
- Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.
